About This Role 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Performs Quality Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.  

  • Requires use of judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications.  

  • Work is performed within a defined set of skills or knowledge area with help and coaching from senior level Quality Engineers. The Quality Engineer supports product design activities, planning for quality, production activities, data analysis and development of metrics, root cause and corrective action, and process and product improvement. 

  • Performs quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s). 

  • Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues. 

  • Monitor processes using nonconformance and test discrepancy metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Participates in process improvement activities through defect disposition, root cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and verify the effectiveness of improvements, etc.   

  • Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s). 

  • Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards. 

  • Create and deliver report data and presentations to local management regarding area performance. 

  • Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions. 

  • Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues. 

  • Monitor processes using nonconformance and test discrepancy metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Participates in process improvement activities through defect disposition, root cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and verify the effectiveness of improvements, etc.   

  • Participates in Program Management activities appropriate to the assigned project(s). 

  • Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards. 

  • Create and deliver report data and presentations to local management regarding area performance. 

  • Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. 

  • Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to analyze specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics. Technical knowledge of inspection and test techniques a plus. 

  • Ability to apply logical, scientific or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. 

  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently 

  • Knowledge of Quality Engineering and manufacturing processes a plus. 

  • This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
