Job description

Quality Engineer โ€“ 2nd Shift / OvernightBuild Quality That Actually Matters

At MasterMold LLC, quality is not a checkbox. It is how we protect our customers, our processes, and our reputation. We manufacture high-quality fiberglass and composite products in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment where engineering judgment, problem-solving, process control, and ownership matter every day.

We are expanding our 2nd shift and overnight Quality Engineering team and are looking for a Quality Engineer who enjoys being close to the process, working directly with production, and solving real manufacturing problems in real time.

This role serves as the technical quality resource on shift, supporting production teams, driving corrective actions, improving process performance, and ensuring product quality standards are consistently met. This is not a โ€œclipboard qualityโ€ position. You will have real influence, modern inspection tools, and leadership that values quality engineering as a driver of performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

If you want your work to matter and your ideas to be heard, MasterMold is the place to do it.

What Youโ€™ll DoOwn PPAP and Core Quality Documentation

Create, update, and maintain PPAP documentation, Control Plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, inspection instructions, quality alerts, and related core quality documents.

Support product launches, engineering changes, customer submissions, and ongoing manufacturing quality requirements through accurate and controlled documentation.

Perform Hands-On Inspection and Part Layouts

Perform dimensional inspections, part layouts, and product evaluations using inspection tools such as FARO Arm, KEYENCE systems, gauges, fixtures, and other precision measurement equipment.

Apply GD&T standards to verify product conformance, support root cause analysis, and ensure customer and engineering requirements are met.

Support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Systems

Support and strengthen company quality systems in alignment with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements, including internal audits, layered process audits, corrective actions, risk-based thinking, process controls, and continuous improvement activities.

Assist with maintaining compliance to customer-specific requirements, internal quality procedures, document control expectations, and manufacturing quality standards.

Improve Processes, Not Just Report Issues

Identify quality risks, process inefficiencies, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement within the production environment.

Partner with production, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to develop practical solutions that improve quality, reduce scrap, strengthen process capability, and prevent repeat issues.

Use Data to Make Better Decisions

Track inspection results, analyze quality trends, review defect data, and support improvement initiatives based on measurable performance.

Use data-driven problem-solving tools to support root cause analysis, corrective actions, containment activities, and long-term process improvement.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need curiosity, precision, follow-through, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch issues others may miss.
  • Experience with GD&T, dimensional inspection, quality inspection tools, and manufacturing quality standards.
  • Experience with FARO Arm or similar portable CMM/measurement equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and manufacturing quality systems preferred.
  • Ability to learn new products, processes, customer requirements, and inspection methods quickly.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills preferred.
  • Organized, accurate, documentation-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent manufacturing quality experience will also be considered.
  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering, quality technician, process engineering, or related technical quality role preferred.
  • Experience with GD&T interpretation, FARO Arm operation, dimensional inspection, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems required; experience with IATF 16949 strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift or overnight shift while supporting production quality needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality data management systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
What Youโ€™ll Get
  • Shift options available on 2nd shift or overnight.
  • Growth opportunities as MasterMold continues to expand.
  • Supportive team culture with quality, engineering, production, and leadership working together.
  • Hands-on involvement with modern quality and inspection technology, including FARO arms, KEYENCE systems, 3D printers, and advanced inspection equipment.
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on product quality, process improvement, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, and professional development opportunities.
