Job description

  • Position:Service Specialist II
  • Location: Richardson, Texas
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (rotating on-call)

THE POSITION: Acts as trainer and resource for Service Specialist staff, supporting Dispatcher role as needed. Responsible for delivering and picking up patient supplies and equipment to/from their homes in accordance with all policies and procedures.

  • Reviews policies related to Service Specialist roles, identifying necessary changes as appropriate.
  • Solves daily delivery issues to help the department run smoothly and cost effectively.
  • Acts as main trainer for new and existing staff, to include being on-call resource during new hire orientation.
  • Trains current staff when they are assuming new responsibilities.
  • Supports Dispatcher as needed, filling in as Dispatcher during PTO/absences.
  • Assumes on-call duties when coverage issues arise, often on short notice.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the patients, families, and caregivers as well as all PHS employees.
  • Schedules and makes deliveries to patients’ homes in a timely manner.
  • Confirms delivery and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Performs and instructs the initial set-up of oxygen and some DME.
  • Performs data entry functions to log customer visits, conversations and follow-ups.
  • Coordinates regular maintenance service to company vehicles.
  • Assists with warehouse duties and equipment processing as needed.
  • Manages time efficiently and be competent in estimating drive times.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Durable medical equipment (DME) experience preferred
  • Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills. A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
  • Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

  • Valid State Driver’s License (must have a clean record)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use navigation system and follow maps.
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
