Job description

Quality Control Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. This position involves performing quality inspections, conducting audits, and utilizing various quality management systems to uphold our commitment to excellence.

Shift Requirements:

  • This position requires flexibility to work either shift: Day Shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM Night Shift: 5:30 PM 2:00 AM ($2.00 shift diff)
  • Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on production needs.

General Role Description:

  • Perform hands-on and visual inspections to verify product readiness prior to shipping

Role Accountabilities:

  • Follow established quality control procedures and standards during inspections to meet product and client requirements
  • Report detailed and accurate discrepancies on non-conforming products (NCP)
  • Document and report nonconforming products accurately in accordance with established procedures
  • Inspect in-process and finished goods to confirm quality and workmanship meet engineering specifications and drawings
  • Follow drawings, procedures, and specifications during inspections to confirm products meet acceptance criteria
  • Train and guide quality control personnel on departmental methods, processes, and procedures as assigned
  • Complete quality records accurately during inspections to document product compliance with specifications and requirements
  • Perform inspections with sustained attention to detail to ensure accurate evaluation of assigned products
  • Verify assembly and quality control documentation is complete, accurate, signed, dated, and at the current revision
  • Maintain organized and efficient work areas to meet 6S standards
  • Observe work areas for unsafe practices, equipment malfunctions, and PPE compliance, and promptly report concerns to the Lead or Supervisor
  • Communicate inspection results, issues, and questions clearly with Lead or Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in quality control manufacturing
  • Proficiency using hand tools and measurement devices
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and wiring drawings and identify workmanship defects
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 5%, sometimes with limited notice
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs
  • Proficiency in English language, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience in Quality Control Manufacturing
  • Familiarity with power electronics, motor drives, and control systems
