Sample Coordinator - Richmond, VA

Day or evening shifts available

Job Description

As a Sample Coordinator, you will perform a variety of sample and standard handling activities to support laboratory operations. You will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and respond to requests from laboratory staff with minimal supervision. Your role will be crucial in maintaining proper sample handling procedures and ensuring compliance with laboratory and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, label, inventory, transport, and track samples and standards throughout the laboratory process.
  • Support sample check-in, check-out, storage, and documentation activities.
  • Assist with the return, transfer, and disposal of laboratory materials when required.
  • Communicate sample and standard status updates to laboratory personnel.
  • Provide guidance to laboratory staff regarding sample handling procedures and requirements.
  • Complete deviation reports and investigations as needed and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Review laboratory requests to ensure compliance with applicable SOPs and quality requirements.
  • Participate in training related to SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and sample storage requirements.
  • Respond to environmental monitoring alarms and participate in on-call support rotations when necessary.
  • Perform all work accurately, safely, and within established timelines.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in sample preparation, sample receiving, and sample management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, sample management, inventory control, or regulated environment.
  • Experience working with SOPs and quality documentation is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in chemistry and biology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, vocational training, or related education is preferred.
  • Flexible with education and experience.
  • Sample management experience.

Work Environment

This position supports laboratory operations and may involve handling, storing, transporting, and tracking laboratory samples and materials. Candidates should be comfortable working in a regulated laboratory environment and following established quality and safety procedures. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.13 - $20.13/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
