Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Inspector to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting metal components, fabricated parts, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards, customer requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.

The QC Inspector will work closely with production, fabrication, welding, machining, and other manufacturing personnel to identify quality issues, verify dimensions and workmanship, document inspection results, and help ensure products are manufactured accurately and consistently. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, familiarity with metal fabrication processes, and the ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment.

The QC Inspector will play a critical role in maintaining Deltak Manufacturing's commitment to quality, precision craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, work-in-process components, fabricated parts, weldments, assemblies, and finished products for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and customer specifications.
• Verify part dimensions, material requirements, workmanship, and overall quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of metal components and fabricated assemblies.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, squares, levels, and other inspection equipment as required.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances against engineering drawings and applicable specifications.
• Inspect fabricated and welded components for common workmanship issues, defects, and inconsistencies.
• Identify nonconforming materials, parts, assemblies, or finished products and properly document quality concerns.
• Communicate quality issues to production personnel, supervisors, and appropriate management personnel.
• Work with production teams to identify potential causes of quality issues and help determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required by production and quality requirements.
• Complete and maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, checklists, and other required documentation.
• Verify that completed work meets established customer, company, drawing, and production requirements before release.
• Monitor production processes for consistency and identify potential quality concerns before products reach final inspection.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure measuring tools are properly stored, handled, and maintained.
• Report damaged, inaccurate, or improperly functioning inspection equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining and improving quality control procedures and inspection processes.
• Follow all company safety procedures and requirements while performing inspections throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all company safety standards.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quality control, quality inspection, manufacturing inspection, metal fabrication, or a similar industrial manufacturing environment.

• Experience inspecting metal components, fabricated parts, assemblies, or similar manufactured products.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Experience using basic precision measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, and other measurement tools.
• Basic understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to identify common dimensional, material, fabrication, and workmanship issues.
• Basic math skills necessary to understand measurements, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify quality issues accurately and consistently.
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and communicate quality concerns.
• Ability to follow established quality procedures, production requirements, and safety standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a metal fabrication, welding, machining, structural steel, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Experience interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Experience inspecting welded components and fabricated assemblies.
• Familiarity with welding and metal fabrication processes.
• Experience using advanced precision inspection equipment or measurement systems.
• Experience with quality management systems and documented quality procedures.
• Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards and manufacturing quality requirements.
• Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming materials and products.
• Experience assisting with corrective actions, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
• Experience working with CNC machining, CNC laser cutting, forming, welding, or other metal manufacturing processes.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with established production and quality goals.

Physical Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment screening.
• Ability to wear all required PPE for the position.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout an 8–10 hour shift.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors in year-round weather, including rain.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. routinely and up to 75 lbs. occasionally while utilizing all proper lifting procedures and practices.
• Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing environment while working around machinery, metal products, welding operations, material handling equipment, and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to visually inspect parts and identify dimensional, surface, fabrication, and workmanship defects.
