Job description

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Quality Control Manager in the Trenton, MI area. The main responsibilities of the Quality Control Manager is to inspect new vehicles that have been up-fitted by the clients vendors to ensure the specs of the build are being followed and the quality of the product meets our clients expectations. 

Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range: $70,000-80,000 depending on experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform a final pre-ship quality inspection prior to a new vehicle leaving an upfitter for delivery.
  • Inspect new production pilot vehicles at the upfitter to finalize requirements with the clients Vehicle Acquisitions and the upfitter before the build commences.
  • Work with the upfitter to ensure that the completed vehicle meets quality expectations. 
  • Inspect new vehicles in the field after delivery to assist in resolving any quality issues with the client. 
  • Work with the upfitter to assist in the implementation of any field warranty fixes
  • Conduct field inspections of in-operation vehicles to determine how those vehicles are performing. 
  • Provide an exceptions report immediately after the inspections are performed so that the upfitter can make corrections prior to shipment. 
  • Submit a weekly inspection report and scorecard.
  • Generate reports of pilot production inspections and quality concern inspections;
Key Competencies and Minimum Education

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years' experience performing vehicle maintenance.
  • Previous up fitter experience or quality control in manufacturing setting would be ideal
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
  • Strong computer skills
  • high level customer service is needed
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Willing to travel 25-30% of the time
Working Conditions

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants.
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
