Location: Jackson, MS

Duration: 12+ months

Responsibilities

The tester (Quality Control Specialist) is responsible for test development and execution for planned system development, enhancement, and maintenance for MEDS and HHSTP projects. Works with the Business Analyst, Operation Managers, Technical Analyst as well as end users to define meaningful tests and their execution. Conducts all testing including all test phase types including regression testing. Responsible for incident management. Familiarize self with project requirements and design to ensure tests meets the needs of the project. Assists test manager in test management activities. The high level job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Create and develop test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Execute and document manual and automated test to verify functionality, identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Perform testing for all test phases including regression test to validate software changes and release.
  • Incident management using testing tools to include prioritization, severity and impact to overall project.
  • Work with business owners, analysts, and vendors to validate the accuracy of software and project delivery through test plan development, resource planning, development of acceptance criteria for test cases.
  • Review and familiarize self with project documentation to understand project scope.
  • Identify any inconsistencies in documentation and system design and report any discrepancies.
  • Facilitate testing status meetings as needed.
  • Preparation and identification of all test data needed for test execution and coordinate the data collection.
  • Ensure that all testers have credentials and environments needed for testing.
  • Identify all risks and issues as they arise.
  • Ensure that incidents or issues discovered are reported and retested in a timely manner.
  • Support and participate in testing events including weekend testing.
  • Design automation testing scripts.
