Quality Control Manager - Meridian, MS

Full Time Operations Jackson, MS, US

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Manager oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standards and procedures within the organization to ensure products and

services meet the required specifications and comply with regulatory standards such as DOT and OSHA.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enforcing quality control procedures and policies to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Inspect, test, and audit to identify defects, non-conformances, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process optimization and improvement.
  • Ensuring that equipment meet regulatory requirements and standards set by relevant authorities, such as OSHA and DOT.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality requirements, conduct supplier evaluations, and address quality issues related to purchased materials or components.
  • Monitoring customer feedback and complaints to address issues promptly, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of quality control activities, test results, and compliance documentation.
  • Generate reports to communicate quality performance metrics to management.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as DOT, Safety, and Operations, to ensure alignment on quality goals, resolve quality-related issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifying potential quality risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3โ€“5 years of quality control or quality assurance experience, preferably in rigging, crating, or related heavy industrial sectors (manufacturing, logistics, construction).
  • Hands-on experience with OSHA standards, load securement practices, and material handling protocols.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems (QMS).
  • Knowledge of rigging and crating standards, including proper selection of slings, shackles, crate materials, and packaging techniques.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, defect tracking, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA).
  • Proficient with quality control tools such as checklists, control charts, andmeasurement devices.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP or QMS software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be self-directed, possess good time management skills, and perform safetyrelated tasks with required levels of urgency.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Split between office and job site, the Quality Control Manager typically works in both indoor offices and outdoor or warehouse environments. While performing the duties of this job, the Quality Control Manager is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to adjust straps, move equipment and perform daily duties; reach with hands and arms; push feet to operate forklift; pull handles and grasp equipment; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
