Job description

We are looking for a dynamic Quality Control Manager to become a vital part of our Quality Control Department, working in-office at our warehouse in Austin, TX. Join the energy and come be part of the momentum!

As Quality Control Manager, you will lead our QC inspection team and serve as the organization's technical authority for counterfeit electronic component detection, ensuring every component that reaches our customers is authentic, high-quality, and fully compliant with AS6081 and AS9120 standards.

Insight on your impact:

  • Serve as the organization's technical authority on the Material Review Board (MRB) for counterfeit electronic component detection and mitigation, evaluating suspect or nonconforming material and determining appropriate disposition.
  • Lead all incoming, in-process, customer-specific, and final inspection activities, applying AS6081 counterfeit avoidance methodology including visual and microscopic inspection, X-ray inspection, decapsulation review, marking permanency testing, and dimensional inspection.
  • Ensure inspection processes comply with AS6081, AS9120, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Control Inspectors and Quality Technicians, managing staffing, scheduling, workload distribution, and inspection priorities.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching to enhance technical competency and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Review and approve inspection reports to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection documentation, calibration programs, and equipment in accordance with quality management system requirements.
  • Analyze quality metrics, inspection data, team performance, and customer feedback to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure readiness for compliance reviews, verify inspection equipment calibration and preventive maintenance, and maintain an ESD-safe inspection environment in compliance with ANSI/ESD standards.

Your qualifications, your influence:
To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience specifically within electronic components or electronics distribution. Candidates from aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing will also be considered if they bring direct, hands-on counterfeit electronic component detection experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with counterfeit electronic component inspection methodologies, including AS6081 requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience directly managing a Quality Control or technical inspection team.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9120 Quality Management Systems and AS6081 Counterfeit Electronic Parts Avoidance requirements.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ANSI/ESD control standards and electronic component handling practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Electronics Technology, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.

Preferred skills and technical familiarity:

  • Experience with IDEA-STD-1010 inspection methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERAI, GIDEP, SAE AS6171, and advanced counterfeit mitigation practices.
  • Experience coordinating advanced laboratory testing, including X-ray, decapsulation, electrical testing, and XRF.
  • ASQ Quality certification (CQE, CQA, CQI) or Internal Auditor certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliance.
