At ATMI, quality is the foundation of everything we build. As a Quality Control Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet both company and industry standards. This position gives you exposure to every stage of production, from pre-pour inspections to final finishes. You will work closely with engineers, production teams, and plant leadership, while developing expertise in concrete materials, mix design, and inspection practices. Summary


The Quality Control Engineer supports the Quality Control Manager by conducting inspections, testing, and reporting throughout all stages of production. This role ensures adherence to the Quality System Manual and applicable PCI and ASTM standards. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with both engineering and production teams to maintain the highest standards of quality.


Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks assigned by the QC Manager
  • Ensure that all production practices adhere to the Quality System Manual (QSM)
  • Apply knowledge of PCI MNL 116, PCI MNL 117, and ASTM standards
  • Perform quality control procedures throughout the production process, including: Pre-pour inspection, Stripping inspection, Post-pour inspection, Finish and patching inspection
  • Communicate with Design Engineers and Production to address drafting or design revisions
  • Share necessary information between QC and batch plant personnel regarding mix adjustments and moisture levels
  • Assist QC inspectors with drafting or design-related issues
  • Collect, organize, and track defect data and concrete performance reports
  • Review and enforce quality control procedures to ensure optimum product quality in areas such as setup, reinforcement fabrication, and finishing
  • Enforce QC practices during: Pre- and post-pour setup, Reinforcement fabrication, Finishing and repairs
  • Conduct panel inventory audits
  • Assist with optimization or development of concrete mix designs
  • Fabricate concrete samples for project submittals
  • Manage calibrations for testing and production equipment
  • Generate reports and submittals for active projects
  • Develop new testing procedures and support equipment improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • PCI Level I and II certification or ability to obtain within the first six months
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Good mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical journals preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and sound decision-making skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
