Join the Duro-Last team, a brand of Amrize Building Envelope and the world's largest manufacturer of custom-fabricated commercial roofing solutions.ย 

Were seeking a Quality Lab Supervisor who's ready to be part of an innovative, people-first brand shaping the future of the roofing industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lab Supervisor is responsible for leading the laboratory processes and operations across the Duro-Last division and its associated brands. This role ensures that all raw materials, in-process materials and finished product testing are conducted efficiently and accurately in accordance with established quality standards, test methods, and compliance requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Quality & Compliance: Adherence to all testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, finished products.ย 
  • Team Development: Mentor Quality technicians and foster a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Data & Improvement: Utilize lab data and KPIs to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in manufacturing and product quality.
  • Problem Solving: Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Lab Operations: Manage equipment calibration, maintain 5S standards, conduct internal and external audits, and ensure safety.
  • Collaboration & Support: Coordinate with engineering, R&D, and production; support quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay current with relevant industry testing standards and regulation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, Materialsย Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in a manufacturing QC lab (3+ years supervisory).
  • Industry Preference: PVC, roofing, rubber, plastics, or chemical processing.
  • Key Skills: QMS (ISO 9001, ASTM), lab equipment, data analytics, continuous improvement, root cause problem-solving.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and develop technical teams, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) and 5S principles.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
