Job description

Role:                          Lab Technician
Location:                    Madison Heights, MI 48071 United States (Onsite)
Duration:                   12+ Months (Possible Extension/ Hire)
Pay Rate:                   $25- 27/hr on W2  
Schedule:                  Mon – Fri (8 am – 5 pm)

Under the supervision of a Senior Technician, the Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence: - Operate and maintain all laboratory testing equipment associated with each test requirement within prescribed test parameters including light maintenance. - Enter samples to be tested, perform evaluation techniques and ratings per established test methods and use a computer for data entry and report generation. - Collect and record data accurately according to quality standards (standard checks/verifications). Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Quals--
Associates degree (or Bachelor's) in a science or technical field preferred;
minimum 1-2 years lab experience
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office products - word, excel and PowerPoint.
- Must work well with others in a team environment
- Must be detailed oriented, organized, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
-Must be capable of working on multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously within a demanding environment.
- Strong math skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Experience with basic tool manipulation including mixing equipment, lab glassware, calipers and other standard lab tools.
- The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day. - Must be able to lift parts in and out of chambers up to 20-30lbs.
