About the Role:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying that power distribution assemblies are built in accordance with engineering drawings, torque specifications, UL requirements, and internal quality standards.

Supporting quality principles derived from Lean Manufacturing by detecting abnormalities early, escalating issues immediately, and protecting the customer from nonconforming products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify assemblies meet electrical schematics, BOMs, and mechanical requirements, including wire routing, labeling, terminations, fastening, and torque markings.
  • Conduct torque audits using calibrated tools; verify hardware type, grade, and washer usage per engineering drawings.
  • Execute final visual inspections and perform Hi-Pot / dielectric testing prior to energization.
  • Complete inspection records accurately, document nonconformances, and tag, segregate, and support rework verification of defective material.
  • Identify, contain, and escalate abnormal or unsafe conditions by stopping shipment, placing product on hold, and coordinating re-inspection with Quality or Engineering.
  • Crosstrain in additional QC/QA functions, including receiving inspections and MRB/RMA processes, to support operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or technical certification.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing quality (electronics, defense, automotive, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of UL & NEC standards.
  • Basic computer/data entry/Excel skills.
  • Use of hand tools - torque wrench, multi-meter, inspection gauges, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical wiring experience preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Requires lifting up to 40 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.
  • Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
  • Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
