Job Summary:

As a Quality Control Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and ripeness of incoming and outgoing produce. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with all aspects of quality control procedures to uphold our standards of excellence. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.


This role will typically be 1st shift, but with seasonal demands, hours may extend in the day as well as on the weekends. ย Candidates must be able to work overtime and flexible to work Saturdays and/or Sundays as needed.ย 


What you'll do (including, but not limited to):ย 

  • Implement and follow all quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing produce.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure all produce meets ripeness standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality control tests, and corrective actions taken.
  • Enter and track data to generate reports detailing quality metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety protocols.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) to optimize storage processes and maintain product integrity.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures related to quality assurance and food safety.
  • Other duties as requested/required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in food science, agriculture, or related field preferred.ย 
  • Proven experience in quality control, specifically within a food production/warehouse environment required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately assess product quality.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices required.
