Job description

Today, Western continues to grow with more than 80 employees fulfilling specialty functions such as engineering, quality, inspection, and production. We use proprietary technology to forge some of the hardest, most difficult alloys on the market into 100% quality-controlled flanges. Every product undergoes a rigorous, sophisticated monitoring and quality assurance program, from heat treatment to testing to the final inspection. Additionally, Western is in full compliance with outlined ASME, PED, ISO, and TSSA standards, a distinction held by only a handful of forging providers in the United States.
Roles & Responsibilities
The QC inspector should have all the capabilities to visual examine and dimensionally measure the parts to conforms the specified requirement. Additionally, a QC inspector should have demonstrated capabilities in understand drawings and plan inspections, in setting up inspection, including preparation and setup of related equipment, as appropriate.
For this position, day-to-day responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
  • Receiving inspection
  • Material verification
  • Visual inspection
  • Marking verification
  • Process verification
  • Document verification
  • Positive Material Identification
  • Assist testing process
  • Assist Final Inspector

Desired Requirements
  • Fluent in English, able to speak, read, and write
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Competency
Minimum Requirements
  • One year of satisfactory performance as a QC Inspector in a manufacturing facility; or
  • High school graduation plus 3 years of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or
  • Completion of college level work leading to an associate degree in a related discipline plus 1 year of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or Graduation from a 4-year college plus 6 months of related experience in equivalent inspection.
  • Knowledge on Positive Material Identification
  • Adequately trained and qualified to perform quality control related activities
