Dental Laboratory Technician (Part-Time)
Reports to: Chief of Dentistry, Queens

Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication of Dental Appliances:
    • Create ceramic crowns and bridges, dentures (full), and other restorations utilizing ITero and Trios scanning along with a milling machine and 3D printing
    • Fabricate appliances for bruxism such as mouth guards
  • Work with Dental Impressions and Models:
    • Read prescriptions and specifications from dentists
    • Examine models and impressions to assist with the design of dental products
    • Create accurate models of patients' mouths and teeth from the dentist's impressions or scans
  • Use Lab Equipment and Techniques:
    • Melt metals or mix plaster, porcelain, or acrylic pastes
    • Pour materials into molds or over frameworks to form dental prostheses or apparatuses
    • Polish and shape appliances using hand tools or power tools
    • Use CAD/CAM technology for designing and manufacturing dental appliances
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with dentists and other dental lab technicians
    • Communicate with dentists to plan, design, and fabricate dental prostheses
  • Quality Control and Maintenance:
    • Test appliances for accuracy and fit on supplied impressions, scans and models
    • Inspect final products for quality and accuracy
    • Ensure a clean and safe work environment, following strict infection control and safety protocols
  • Available to work a minimum of three (3) days per week
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certificate or associate's degree from an accredited dental laboratory technology program
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
