Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance / Quality Control Technician

Location: Boling, Texas

Position Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Director of Construction

Position Summary: The QA/QC Technician is responsible for supporting quality assurance and quality control activities on civil construction projects. This role focuses on conducting inspections, coordinating testing, and maintaining accurate documentation to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The position works directly in the field alongside project teams and subcontractors to ensure quality is built into every phase of construction.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily field inspections for earthwork, utilities, concrete, foundations, and roadway construction.

• Verify that materials and installation meet project drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

• Observe and document construction activities; complete inspection reports and maintain quality records.

• Coordinate required field and laboratory testing (e.g., concrete, soils, compaction) with third-party testing agencies.

• Identify and report non-conformances; track corrective actions as directed by project leadership.

• Assist with preparing turnover documentation and quality closeout packages.

• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols while performing QA/QC duties.


Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2–5 years of QA/QC experience in civil construction or related field.

• Familiarity with construction inspection methods for soils, concrete, and utilities.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and test procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in active construction environments.


Preferred Qualifications:

• ACI Field Testing Technician certification.

• NICET certification in Construction Materials Testing (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt).

• Experience with DOT, municipal, or large-scale site development projects.


Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
