Job Summary:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall quality of RTC products, ensuring business objectives are met by overseeing quality inspection activities and mitigating risk across in-process and finished goods.  This role drives the implementation and continuous improvement of inspection protocols to ensure product conformity, proactively identifies risks, resolves non-conformities, and supports on-time, right-first-time delivery.  Through direct leadership of the Quality Control Supervisor and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Supply Chain, and Project Management, the QC Manager plays a key role in protecting customer satisfaction, brand integrity, and operational excellence.   

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control Leadership:
    • Maintain, update, and enforce quality control policies and procedures to ensure consistent quality products.
    • Oversee quality inspections and control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle to ensure products meet customer specifications, brand standards, and internal requirements.
    • Lead or support nonconforming investigations to identify root causes of defects, implement corrective and preventive actions, and verify effectiveness.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of quality and inspection results, records, and metrics.
    • Collaborate with and develop the Quality Control Supervisor to enhance leadership capabilities, execution efficiency and team performance.
    • Identify skill gaps, provide technical guidance, and support training for QC personnel and other cross-functional teams to elevate quality awareness.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Initiate and drive continuous improvement projects targeting efficiency, defect reduction, cost savings, or improved delivery performance.
    • Track, trend, and analyze quality performance data to proactively mitigate risks and improve product performance.
    • Partner with upstream teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated in the lifecycle.
    • Drive improvement initiatives to minimize quantity and financial impact of nonconforming product.
  • Other duties assigned to support the overall quality and operational objectives.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in POP (point of purchase) or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control tools and methodologies, including the ability to read engineering prints, GD&T, and statistical analysis, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; experience maintaining data logs, reports, and metrics required. 
  • Experience managing a quality team or supervising direct reports is required; exposure to union staff is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) required.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Experience in Metal fabrication and/or injection molding environments strongly preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.  Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to support quality control operations across three facilities located within a 10-minute drive, ensuring consistent oversight and coordination. 
  • Must be 18 years or older.

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $71,555-$110,193, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role.  Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results.  Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date.  Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
