The Production Supervisor leads hourly production associates during assigned shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and effective manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for achieving production objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, labor efficiency, and cost while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development. The Production Supervisor serves as a key operational leader and collaborates closely with Maintenance, Quality, Warehousing, Human Resources, and Plant Leadership to drive business results.


Primary Accountabilities:
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and support production associates and lead personnel on assigned shifts.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all company safety policies, GMP requirements, food safety standards, environmental requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead daily production operations to achieve established goals for safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization, customer service, and cost control.
  • Monitor staffing requirements and coordinate labor resources to support operational needs.
  • Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, and workforce scheduling activities.
  • Conduct routine production floor audits and safety observations, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure production equipment is operated safely and efficiently while maintaining product quality standards.
  • Drive employee engagement through effective communication of goals, expectations, performance results, and business priorities.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Warehousing, and other support functions to maximize operational performance and equipment reliability.
  • Analyze production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, recovery, and throughput.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Train and develop employees on operating procedures, quality requirements, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct performance coaching, performance documentation, and corrective action processes when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Communicate operational issues, risks, and performance results to plant leadership in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:       
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or other high-speed production environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
  • Experience leading hourly production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, quality systems, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, and problem-solving tools.
  • Ability to interpret production metrics and use data to drive operational improvements.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach employees, and hold individuals accountable for performance expectations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Education & Certification:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and access production areas.
  • Requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, and other physical movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery.
Work Environment:
  • Cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments.
  • Fast-paced, high-volume food manufacturing setting.
  • Industrial production environment with associated noise levels.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal to no travel is expected.
