Job description

Job Title:                    Quality Assurance Technician

Department:               Quality

Reports To:                 Quality Manager

SUMMARY: The Quality Technician supports the Quality and Engineering teams by maintaining calibrated equipment, managing Material Safety Data Sheets, supporting specialized in-house automated systems, and performing internal audits. This role ensures compliance, process accuracy, and readiness of quality‑related tools and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Maintain and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all controlled materials.
  • Manage calibration of tools, gauges, and equipment used by Quality Assurance and Engineering.
  • Maintain and support specialized in‑house automated equipment that relies on custom software.
  • Perform scheduled Internal System (IS) audits and support corrective actions.
  • Track and report calibration status, audit findings, and equipment readiness.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve equipment, documentation, or compliance issues.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to quality workflows and process control.
  • Maintain records, logs, and documentation required for compliance and certification.
  • Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
  • Overtime may be required to accommodate business workflow.
  • Other duties as assigned.

None; may provide informal guidance to operators or technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality, or production support.
  • Experience with calibration programs or equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to use basic measurement tools and interpret calibration requirements.
  • Comfortable interacting with software‑driven or automated test equipment.
  • Experience with audit processes or compliance documentation a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office Application including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Unipoint, Syspro and CAD/Solid Works a plus.
