Job description

Darwin’s Natural Pet Products (www.darwinspet.com) has an exciting new full-time opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager in Tukwila, WA!

We are looking for a detail-driven, passionate Quality Assurance Manager to safeguard the integrity of our products and processes. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our quality program, ensuring every meal we produce meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and nutrition. You will work cross-functionally with our production, procurement, and leadership teams to build and maintain a culture of quality from farm to food bowl.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the QA program, including food safety protocols, HACCP/SQF plans, regulatory compliance, and policy enforcement.
  • Support and lead audits, inspections, and corrective actions while serving as a liaison with auditing groups and inspectors.
  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to provide process oversight, address nonconforming products, investigate complaints, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver food safety and quality training programs across all departments; participate in HACCP and SQF teams.

Analyze quality data, manage the Monitoring Quality Plan and Product Hold processes, and report trends and recommendations to leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $105,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Enjoy 15 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacation, sick leave or for any other personal reason.
  • Additional paid time away includes 4 Paid Holidays, 3 Floating Holidays.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 2+ years of food safety, QA/QC, or regulatory leadership experience in a USDA or FDA environment.
  • PCQI and HACCP certifications required; SQF Practitioner certification highly valued
  • Experience implementing GFSI programs (BRC, SQF, etc.) in a food processing environment a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, food labeling, and GFSI certification standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop action plans.
  • Effective communicator across all levels; able to train, coach, and support team members.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
