THE POSITION
The Department of Human Services is seeking a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist who is ready to make a difference at Norristown State Hospital. This position gives you the chance to support patient rights, maintain hospital standards, and strengthen the quality of care. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position plays an important role in ensuring that patient rights and hospital performance standards are upheld through careful review and investigation. As a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Investigation Work: Conduct detailed reviews of patient abuse allegations and patient rights grievances using interviews, records, and video evidence
  • Data Reporting: Prepare and distribute data reports that support performance improvement efforts across the hospital
  • Staff Guidance: Provide education and assistance to staff regarding investigations, resolution reports, and corrective actions
  • Regulatory Support: Ensure performance complies with regulatory standards and supports patient rights
  • Performance Improvement: Assist hospital leadership in evaluating care outcomes and developing improvement initiatives

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Some shift or day flexibility may be required.
    • Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
