We are seeking a Mission Assurance Research Analyst to support a multi-disciplinary action research effort. The Research Analyst will work closely with program leadership and stakeholders to design, execute, and support initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, staff performance, and mission resilience. This role integrates organizational development (OD) and performance improvement practices into mission assurance efforts to ensure effective execution in both steady-state and contingency environments. Key Responsibilities include:
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with headquarters staff, component commands, and mission partners.
• Maintain familiarity with DoD and Command mission assurance policies, frameworks, and operational planning processes.
• Analyze existing mission assurance procedures to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with research teams and stakeholders to design and conduct organizational development and performance improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, working groups, and data collection efforts across HQ staff and partner organizations.
• Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to support research objectives and mission assurance efforts.
• Coordinate with interagency and coalition partners to identify and incorporate leading practices.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality briefings, reports, and decision-support materials.
• Support after-action reviews and contribute to lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Track implementation of recommendations and assess effectiveness over time.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with program requirements, records management, classification, and security protocols.
• Ensure all analyses and deliverables align with mission priorities and security requirements. Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant DoD, military, or interagency experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience).
• Familiarity with mission assurance concepts, risk management frameworks, and operational planning principles.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Organizational development or design
o Process improvement / performance optimization
o Mission assurance or risk analysis
• Familiarity with headquarters staff processes in a joint environment.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior leaders.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and adapt to dynamic priorities.
• Ability to appropriately handle and protect sensitive information.
• Top-Secret security clearance Desired Qualifications:
• Experience supporting DoD headquarters environments.
• Advanced knowledge of mission, structure, and operations.
• Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
• Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), Prosci Change Management, or PMP.
• Experience with research-based assessments and organizational improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with defense resourcing, acquisition, and policy processes.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Maven, Envision, or Palantir Foundry Platform. • This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
