Summary:


The Receiving Clerk/Inspector is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, ensuring quality of shipments, and maintaining inventory records. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position involves performing visual and dimensional inspection of incoming materials, time/temperature sensitive materials, hardware and in-process parts for quality workmanship, appearance and conformity to applicable specifications and standards. Not a complete description.


Responsibilities:

  • Performs mechanical, visual and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools and drawing specifications
  • Perform incoming inspections with appropriate equipment
  • Verify certification and conformity to Production Specifications in accordance with production drawings
  • Record material in Receiving Log
  • Properly mark, record and report rejected material
  • Segregate and protect identification and traceability of material
  • Clean work area, reuse materials or break down boxes
  • Follow policies and procedures in the Trident Maritime Systems Employee Manual, Quality Assurance Manual, Safety Manual and Production Specifications
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications/Skills:


  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel capabilities.
  • General knowledge and understanding of OSHA 1910 Standard.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • 2-5 years of in-house manufacturing or shipyard inspection experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of calipers, outside, inside, depth micrometers, metal rulers, threat gages, go no-go gages, hardness testing equipment, and basic dimensional measuring devices.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team setting, be flexible, and exhibit a willingness to learn/ take on new tasks


Additional Requirements:


  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing/in-house production environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
