They help ensure that the software meets quality standards and works as intended. Typical tasks may include executing test cases, reporting defects, working closely with developers, and learning about quality assurance processes and tools. This role provides hands-on experience in software testing, critical thinking, and teamwork, which are essential for a career in QA.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY

Benelynk is building the technology platform that powers Veteran Directed Care (VDC), a VA program that gives veterans the flexibility to direct their own long-term in-home care, including hiring and managing their own caregivers. We are seeking to hire a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support a new product being added to our portfolio.

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, testing, and proposing measures to correct or improve the organization’s products so that they meet established quality, functional, and compliance standards. In practical terms, this role designs and executes the test strategies, test plans, test suites, test cases, and test scripts that validate product functionality End-to-End — identifying, logging, and reproducing defects before they reach the user, and confirming that what was built matches what was asked for.

This position supports the technology platform BeneLynk is building to power Veteran Directed Care (VDC), a VA program that gives veterans the flexibility to direct their own long-term in-home care, including hiring and managing their own caregivers.

BeneLynk’s Engagement Advocates use an internal, proprietary platform (i.e., Veteran Choose) to guide veterans through the full lifecycle — onboarding, caregiver engagement, time submission and approval, payroll, and reporting. The platform also includes a self-service module that allows the Veteran, Case Manager, and Direct Care Worker to access the system directly to perform the functions they require and to retrieve their unique actions and reports.

Because this platform serves several very different audiences within a single connected system — veterans (many of whom are elderly or non-technical), family caregivers, professional Direct Care Workers, Enrollment Advocates, and partner agencies (ADNAs) — the QA Analyst must validate distinct role-based experiences, permissions, and workflows rather than a single user path. The role also carries a high-consequence testing burden: errors in eligibility, service authorizations, budgets, timesheets, or payroll affect a veteran’s care and a caregiver’s paycheck. Accuracy is not a preference here; it is the product.

The QA Analyst will work in conjunction with the Chief Product Officer, the Product Owner, the UI/UX Product Designer, Operations, and the Engineering (ENG) team to design, develop, test, validate, deploy, monitor, and manage the solutions being released. In addition, this individual will assist in capturing business needs and business requirements from stakeholders and in defining corresponding project and product directives relative to Product Development (PD) initiatives.

At BeneLynk we know that innovation does not come without rolling up our sleeves and getting the work done. The QA Analyst will be an integral piece in defining and executing testing strategies that ensure BeneLynk continues to deliver high-quality products and services to its customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent BeneLynk’s Customers: This function is listed first, because we always want to be thinking of how best to serve our internal and external customers. The first responsibility of the QA Analyst is to understand the business needs and goals of BeneLynk’s clients — and the lived experience of veterans, caregivers, and Direct Care Workers — along with the functionality of the products and services designed to address them.
  • Ensure Product Quality: The QA Analyst is responsible for designing and executing End-to-End validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of product functionality across both the Advocate-facing platform and the self-service module. This individual is vital to the assurance and attestation that BeneLynk products are absent of issues and recurrently adhere to the Voice of the Customer (VOC).
  • Validate Program and Payroll Integrity: The QA Analyst will validate the complex program logic that sits underneath the interface — eligibility, service authorizations, budget calculations, timesheet capture and approval, payroll processing, and reporting — including boundary conditions, rounding, retroactive corrections, and error-state handling.
  • Team Collaboration: This role is responsible for fostering an effective and collaborative team structure, working with colleagues across technical, business, and operational departments. This cohort will be part of a team structured to understand, design, and execute QA and UAT plans based on the business goals, needs, and requirements captured from these teammates.

This role may have multiple responsibilities, reflecting the small, but growing, size of BeneLynk as a company. All of us, including our senior management team, are on the front line performing what needs to be accomplished to establish BeneLynk as the nation’s premier provider of benefit and SDoH advocacy services.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test Design and Execution

  • Develop test strategies, test plans, test suites, test cases, and test scripts — providing a high level of testing and analysis coverage across existing functionality and new features.
  • Execute role-based testing across all platform personas — Enrollment Advocate, Veteran, Case Manager, Direct Care Worker, and partner agency (ADNA) — validating that permissions, visibility, and available actions are correct for each role.
  • Validate the VDC service lifecycle End-to-End: onboarding, caregiver engagement, time submission and approval, payroll, and reporting.
  • Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate product attributes; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Test the self-service module against real-world usage conditions — including mobile devices, low-bandwidth connections, and assistive technology — recognizing that many end users are elderly, non-technical, or non-native English speakers.
  • Support accessibility validation against WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline requirement, escalating findings to design and engineering.

Requirements, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Review design specifications, wireframes, prototypes, and project/product parameters to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the software product.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure that products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines as conveyed within the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Project Charter (PC).
  • Assist in Requirements Gathering (RG) with stakeholders and end users, and help translate captured business needs into testable acceptance criteria.
  • Provide the testing scope/overview documentation, test plan, test results, and associated tickets for resolution and prioritization.
  • Maintain clear documentation of test coverage, results, and decisions to support audit readiness and compliance traceability (e.g., HIPAA, VA program requirements).

Defect Management and Continual Improvement

  • Identify, log, and recreate error codes, bugs, and defects; report findings to the Product Management Office (PMO) and/or Engineering (ENG) when applicable or required.
  • Respond quickly to QA/UAT and/or Production (PRD) issues, research and identify ways to reproduce defects, update tickets, and monitor the status of project/product initiatives accordingly.
  • Devise best practices, processes, and procedures to stringently inspect and report detailed quality issues for prompt correction.
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting, analyzing, and communicating quality data.

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership to understand the journey of our Advocates and the veterans and caregivers they assist.
  • Work on multiple initiatives to prioritize features, devise program testing and analysis requirements, create corresponding documentation and process flows, and define on-time delivery of End-to-End testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Product Officer and/or BeneLynk leadership personnel regarding QA/UAT and/or business-related objectives.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2–4+ years in Quality Assurance (QA) and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including experience leading product testing and analysis efforts across multiple QA and/or UAT initiatives.
  • Experience in Agile business/software development lifecycle processes and methodologies; experience with or knowledge of SCRUM fundamentals, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Experience performing End-to-End testing across multiple applications and developing test plans, test scripts, and a coverage matrix for comprehensive testing of the systems under test.
  • Ability to create test plans, test suites, and test cases from project/product specifications and/or verbal communication channels.
  • Experience creating written QA/UAT test reports showcasing test progress, status, test plan completion, defects identified, and associated risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reason through complex conditional business rules and identify the edge cases others miss.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Calm under pressure, with a proactive and self-starting attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to serve as a liaison among developers, designers, product managers, and operations.
  • Experience presenting information to teams, stakeholders, and/or executives.
  • Proficiency in the MSFT Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or related software.
  • Adept at understanding the premise, intent, and utilization of QA/UAT operations and how they coalesce with product design, development, and delivery processes.
  • Recurrently portrays a collegial comportment and candor to all BeneLynk cohorts.
