How much do quality assurance agent jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for quality assurance agent in the United States is $29.29, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $18.75 and $34.38 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Which pays more, QA or QC?

In the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) fields, QA roles typically offer higher salaries because they involve more strategic planning, process improvement, and oversight responsibilities. QC roles often focus on testing and inspection, which may be less senior and thus generally pay less. Salary differences can vary based on industry, experience, and certifications such as ASQ certifications.

Is QA a difficult job?

Quality Assurance (QA) roles can be challenging as they require attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of testing tools and processes. The difficulty level depends on the complexity of the projects and the experience of the individual, but it often involves repetitive tasks and problem-solving to ensure product quality.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the field of quality assurance, high-paying roles such as senior QA managers or directors in large corporations can reach or exceed $500,000 annually, especially with bonuses and stock options. These positions typically require extensive experience, leadership skills, and often certifications like ISTQB or CSTE. Most roles at this level are found in industries like technology, finance, or pharmaceuticals with significant organizational size and complexity.

What are Quality Assurance Agents?

Quality Assurance Agents are professionals responsible for ensuring that products or services meet established quality standards before they reach customers. They typically review processes, inspect products, and identify areas where improvements can be made. In many industries, they monitor performance, provide feedback, and help implement corrective actions to maintain high quality. QA Agents play a crucial role in minimizing defects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What is the difference between Quality Assurance Agent vs Quality Control Inspector?

AspectQuality Assurance AgentQuality Control Inspector
Primary FocusPreventing defects through process improvementsIdentifying defects in finished products
Work EnvironmentCollaborates with teams during developmentInspects products post-production
CertificationsOften requires QA certifications or trainingMay require specific industry inspection certifications
Employer UsageUsed across manufacturing, software, and service industriesCommon in manufacturing and production sectors

While both roles aim to ensure product quality, a Quality Assurance Agent focuses on preventing defects during the development process, whereas a Quality Control Inspector primarily detects defects in finished products. Understanding these differences helps organizations assign the right responsibilities and improve overall quality management.

How does a Quality Assurance Agent typically collaborate with other departments to improve product or service quality?

Quality Assurance Agents frequently work alongside teams such as production, customer support, and product development to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions. They may participate in cross-functional meetings, share detailed reports on defects or customer complaints, and recommend process improvements based on their findings. Regular communication and feedback loops are key, as QA Agents help ensure that quality standards are understood and maintained across the organization. This collaborative approach not only helps resolve immediate issues but also drives long-term quality improvements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Quality Assurance Agent, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Quality Assurance Agent, you need a keen eye for detail, analytical thinking, and a solid understanding of quality standards, often supported by a degree in a relevant field or prior QA experience. Familiarity with QA tools like Jira, test management systems, and certifications such as ISTQB are commonly required. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality products or services by identifying defects and supporting continuous improvement.

How much is the salary of a QA?

The salary of a Quality Assurance (QA) Agent typically ranges from $40,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and industry. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced QA professionals with certifications can earn higher salaries, especially in tech and software development environments.

Job description

Bilingual Quality Assurance Agent

Location: Plano, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday RANGE: 8:00am-7:00pm plus Saturday (Shift specific to be determined after interview)

Compensation: $15-18/hr (Dependent on Experience)

Our client is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bilingual Quality Assurance Agent to help keep their electric vehicle production running smoothly. If you have a solid background in manufacturing or assembly and are looking for a straightforward, stable role where your experience can shine, this is the perfect fit.

Core Responsibilities

  • Inspection Focus: Conduct thorough inspections of incoming items, prioritizing systematic evaluation over mechanical repair.
  • Checklist Execution: Methodically work through detailed checklists to ensure all standards and specifications are met.
  • Documentation & Logging: Accurately document all incoming inventory, tracking conditions, and noting any discrepancies.
  • Issue Identification: Spot, identify, and clearly log specific problems or defects observed during the inspection process.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Strong ability to gather accurate data and compile clear, concise reports on findings.
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage incoming items and keep documentation structured.
  • Communication: High proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication to effectively report issues.
  • Quality Control (Plus): Prior experience in a Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) environment is highly valued.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Experience, Not Degrees: You have proven experience working on an assembly line or in a manufacturing environment. You don't need a heavy engineering background—just a practical understanding of how parts fit together.
  • Bilingual Skills: Fluent in both English and Spanish to keep communication clear across different teams.
