Located in the heart of Virginia's capital in the historic Miller & Rhoads building, this hotel is just steps from the Richmond Convention Center and Virginia State Capitol. Blending historic charm with modern amenities, it provides an engaging downtown environment for hospitality professionals serving both business and leisure travelers.


Pay Range:

$15.00-$21.00This position will be responsible for meal preparation and ensuring a consistently great product to serve to our guest. Ensuring all F&B Standards are met to ensure our Guests feel the value and cared for.
  • Plan and prepare various food items and meals for hotel restaurant and catering functions, following proper food handling and safety guidelines
  • Understand food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
  • Assist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and the restaurant when necessary.
  • Accommodate guests' special requests.
  • Maintain clean work area, practicing "clean as you go" policy
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
  • Assist with training and monitoring kitchen personnel in the performance of their duties as necessary
  • Support environmental commitments by having the knowledge, skills, and values to be a leader in the global goal of "greening" the hospitality industry
  • Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum one year of hospitality or restaurant food service experience required
  • Basic kitchen cleanliness standards and knowledge of basic kitchen equipment
  • Able to work with little or no supervision
  • Read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors
  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
  • Standing, bending, lifting, and twisting for extended periods of time. Frequent repetitive motions with arms, wrists, hands, and legs. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
