About Us

Dean & Deluca Sushi brings restaurant-grade sushi to the Upper West Side, featuring high-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and a refined approach to fresh, made-daily sushi.

Position Summary:

The Sushi Cook prepares a variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls and other Japanese cuisine items. This role requires expertise in knife skills, seafood handling, food presentation, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while delivering consistent quality.

Job Duties:

  • Prepares sushi, sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls and other dishes.
  • Clean, cut, and prepare fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards and customers preferences.
  • Maintain proper food storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Keep the sushi station clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
  • Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.
  • Assist with menu preparation and daily food production.
  • All other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a sushi cook or chef preferred.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
  • Strong knife skills and seafood handling experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Handlers Card preferred
