Job description

About Us:

Landscape Workshop (LW) is a full-service commercial landscaping company providing high-quality maintenance and enhancement services across the Southeast. As we continue to grow, we're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to build a career in landscape management.


Position Summary:

The Associate Account Manager (AAM) is a leadership development role designed to prepare future Account Managers through hands-on training and mentorship. Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll gain experience in landscape operations, crew leadership, client service, and account management while developing the skills needed to successfully manage a portfolio of commercial maintenance accounts.


Minimum Requirements:

  • A two- or four-year degree in a relevant field
  • At least one internship in the landscape industry OR equivalent industry work experience
  • Knowledge of all associated machinery and trucks involved in delivering our products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to design small landscape projects.
  • Experience with, and basic knowledge of, computer operation. Ability to learn Aspire quickly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean record over the last three years.
  • Ability to pass required Department of Transportation physical.
  • Good physical condition. Mental ability to make quick decisions, supervise workers, perform manual labor and interpret data.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on properties including (but not limited to) operating equipment, mowing, edging, pruning, weed eating, etc. with crews to meet work and scheduling demand Planting & Installation of flower beds and pots including prepping soil, applying mulch, planting and watering plants, and establishing or edging flower beds
  • Lead your crew by enforcing safety regulations at the job site, coordinating and transporting the crew, equipment, and materials to and from a job site
  • Communicating regularly with the Account Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met including resolution of any concern.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment including unloading and reloading equipment onto truck, washing equipment, changing equipment blades and oil, cleaning air filters and greasing machines as needed
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as handling various landscaping equipment and materials, safely operating hand and power equipment, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs., lifting branches and limbs, push, pull, grip and squeeze various tools and products, walk long distances, kneel and bend to complete landscaping tasks
  • Participate in the Associate Account Manager Training Program which contains a rubric/checklist of training modules surrounding job-site scripting, people leadership training, manual labor and care knowledge, safety, customer relations, systems operations, etc. for accelerated development
  • Attend Account Management Training class within the first 7 months of joining LW in the AAM role (5 days, Birmingham, AL)
  • Be an example of and communicate with your crew members the values, customer value proposition, policies and procedures by which the company operates
  • Participate in weekly branch meeting
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by branch leadership.


Career Development Path/Opportunities:

  • The Associate Account Manager role is viewed as a training position for becoming an Account Manager. At LW, our AAM's are expected to perform daily field labor tasks and lead a crew similar to a Field Manager. Additionally, the AAM is required to participate in the developmental program as outlined: one week of management training, operational software exposure, periodic AM shadowing, assigned reading outside of work, and the continued development of landscaping related techniques/horticulture knowledge. Through the guidance of this program, our expectation is that high performing Associate Account Managers will be prepared for promotion opportunities.
