Job description

The Madden School is seeking a dedicated, experienced Center Assistant Director to lead our Keystone Stars 4 rated childcare program. As the center's AssistantDirector, you’ll work closely with the Center Director to oversee the daily operations of a high-quality preschool and childcare center, inspire and mentor staff, and build lasting relationships with families. This leadership role combines early childhood education expertise with strong business and management skills, ensuring children receive the best start in life while the center thrives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with leading and managing all aspects of the childcare center, including staff supervision, curriculum development, and program implementation.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment while adhering to state licensing and health & safety standards.

  • Drive enrollment growth by achieving occupancy goals, giving engaging tours, and following The Madden School’s proven processes.

  • Ensure effective implementation of Creative Curriculum and maintain excellence in Pennsylvania’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) – Keystone Stars.

  • Build a nurturing culture that encourages children’s growth and inspires staff to perform at their highest potential.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development for educators.

  • Take part in conducting regular staff meetings and trainings to align on policies, goals, and performance standards.

  • Take responsibility for the center’s overall daily operations and compliance.

Requirements
  • Associates Degree or CDA

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Assistant Director in early childhood education

  • At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and Keystone Stars QRIS rating system

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting families

  • Availability to work full-time, on-site hours
