Job description

Position Overview
QMI is seeking an experienced Industrial Business Development Executive to drive new business growth within industrial manufacturing and process environments.
This role is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with key decision-makers and converting those relationships into active project opportunities. The focus is on generating revenue through industrial piping, mechanical systems, and process infrastructure work.
This is a high-impact, hunter-style role focused on immediate market activation and long-term account development.
About QMI
QMI is an industrial contractor specializing in piping systems, mechanical installations, and process infrastructure within manufacturing facilities.
We support industrial clients with shutdowns, capital projects, and maintenance work that directly impacts production uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
QMI also has in-house fabrication capabilities for piping and structural steel, allowing for greater quality control, faster execution, and enhanced project delivery.
Note: This is not an HVAC or commercial plumbing role. Work is exclusively within industrial production environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and leverage relationships within industrial markets to generate project opportunities
  • Identify and pursue shutdown, capital, and maintenance-related work
  • Engage plant-level decision makers including:
    • Plant Managers
    • Maintenance Leaders
    • Engineering and Operations Leaders
  • Position QMI early in project planning and decision-making cycles
  • Collaborate with internal estimating and operations teams to support proposal development
  • Drive new business development activity within assigned region
  • Maintain and grow long-term client relationships within industrial accounts
Key Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial construction, mechanical contracting, or industrial services
  • Established network within industrial manufacturing environments
  • Proven track record in business development or account growth
  • Strong understanding of industrial operations, shutdowns, and capital project cycles
  • Experience working with piping, mechanical systems, or process infrastructure
Preferred Experience
  • Industrial mechanical or piping contractors
  • Process piping or fabrication environments
  • Industrial services or plant maintenance support roles
  • Technical sales within industrial markets
