About the Role:
The QMED (Qualified Member of the Engine Department) plays a critical role in the operation and maintenance of a vessel's engine room and associated machinery. This position ensures the safe and efficient functioning of all mechanical and electrical equipment onboard, contributing directly to the vessel's overall performance and safety. The QMED is responsible for routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, working closely with the engineering team to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime. Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid QMED certification issued by the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
- Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch
- Valid USCG Medical Certificate
