Job description

Help shape how the business operates by delivering workflow and reporting solutions that measurably improve outcomes. This role sits at the center of product, data, and technology-turning complex needs into clear user stories, actionable roadmaps, and trusted reporting. You'll influence priorities, align stakeholders, and drive consensus to deliver real business value. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy building solutions end-to-end-from requirements through UAT-this is the opportunity.

As a/an Product Owner in Workflow & Reporting Solutions, you will own the definition and delivery of workflow and reporting capabilities that enhance business value. You will partner with technology teams and subject matter experts to translate business needs into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritize and manage the product backlog, and ensure high-quality releases through effective testing and UAT. You will also promote continuous improvement, maintain rigorous documentation, and support business adoption through training and enablement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the product backlog, including prioritization, refinement, and ongoing grooming to maximize business value.
  • Write clear user stories and define measurable acceptance criteria to enable efficient development and testing.
  • Gather requirements through workshops, interviews, and analysis, and translate them into scoped deliverables and release plans.
  • Partner with technology teams and SMEs to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and drive delivery outcomes.
  • Analyze data and business processes to recommend data-driven workflow and reporting solutions.
  • Facilitate planning sessions (e.g., sprint planning, refinement, and prioritization discussions) to align on goals and commitments.
  • Manage defects and enhancements, including triage, prioritization, root-cause thinking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee test strategy by reviewing/supporting test cases and plans, and coordinating successful User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Track performance against standards/benchmarks and communicate timely updates on initiatives, risks, dependencies, and issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation (e.g., mapping guides, data lineage, training materials) to ensure auditability and sustainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, identifying reuse opportunities, and applying a controls-based mindset.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst delivering workflow and/or reporting solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and refine user stories with strong, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering and analysis, including scoping deliverables and defining success measures.
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority over resources.
  • Experience prioritizing backlogs, managing dependencies, and balancing multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience supporting testing and UAT, including defect management and release readiness.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including creating compelling PowerPoint materials for varied audiences.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with remote and cross-functional teams across levels and functions.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving capability to evaluate options and recommend data-driven solutions.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView, Qlik Sense, and/or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with reporting concepts such as data lineage, mapping, and controls/audit-ready documentation.
  • Understanding of the AI/GenAI landscape, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and how they may enhance workflows and reporting.
  • Experience contributing to or leading training enablement, including building guides and delivering sessions to business users.
  • Prior experience establishing or improving benchmarks/metrics to track solution performance and adoption.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, including capturing lessons learned and identifying reusable patterns.
