Job description

Quality Control Test Technician — Power Electronics Production

This role may also be known as: Electrical Test Technician, QC Test Technician, Production Test Technician, Electronics Test Technician
If you'd rather diagnose a problem than just report one, keep reading. This is a role built for someone who wants their hands on real test equipment every day, not buried in a spreadsheet.
You'll be the last line of defense before product ships — running visual inspections, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting on power electronics equipment using DMMs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and isolation testers. When something doesn't pass, you're the one figuring out why and documenting what you find.
This is a team-oriented production environment where your troubleshooting instincts and attention to detail genuinely matter, and where there's real room to keep building technical depth in the power electronics space over time.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Unlike a lot of QC roles that are checklist-driven, this one leans heavily on troubleshooting and technical judgment. You'll work closely with a multi-disciplinary production team, with the autonomy to run your own testing process rather than being micromanaged through it, and exposure to a specialized corner of the electric industry that builds skills you can carry forward.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform visual (pre-power) inspections on all product lines
  • Conduct production line acceptance testing, including insulation and function tests
  • Troubleshoot failed units and provide timely solutions
  • Record test results and complete required test reports and documentation
  • Report issues found on failed units
  • Perform some mechanical assembly and handle large gauge cables
  • Work from technical instructions, drawings, and procedures
What We're Looking For
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the electric industry
  • Two-year technical degree in Applied Electrical Engineering, or equivalent college coursework/comparable industry experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience in power electronics
  • Experience operating standard test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, isolation testers, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills; comfortable working in a team environment with limited supervision
Compensation & Work Model
Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process. This is an onsite, evening-shift role (5:30 PM to 2:00 AM), plus overtime as needed.
Location & Travel
This role is available in two locations: Katy, Texas. No additional travel requirements identified.
