Vitality Works is in search of qualified candidate for our QA Analyst position.

Position Summary:

As a QC Analyst, you will conduct routine and non-routine Quality Control functions relating to material receiving, lab formulation, analytical testing, microbiological testing, and encapsulation according to established procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry, documentation, and inventory counts with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Control (QC) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and identify, troubleshoot, and document deviations from established processes.
  • Perform raw material and product identification testing using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) as required.
  • Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products as required.
  • Perform Environmental Monitoring (EM) and water quality testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct analytical testing and quantitative assays using laboratory instrumentation, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), and other analytical techniques as required.
  • Perform in-house laboratory analyses, including Specific Gravity, Jones Reagent, Solubility, Fill Weight Verification, and other routine QC tests.
  • Coordinate and manage the submission of raw materials and finished products to third-party contract laboratories for testing and analysis.
  • Assist in the investigation, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Review and approve manufacturing batch records to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements.
  • Review and approve powder blends for encapsulation and finished encapsulated products.
  • Receive, sample, test, and approve USP Ethyl Alcohol in accordance with applicable USP requirements and internal procedures.
  •  Provide cross-functional support and backup coverage for Quality Control laboratory operations as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by the QC Laboratory Manager.

Skills & Requirements:

  • BS degree in a life science such as Chemistry or related field
  • At least two years working in a laboratory setting
  • Experience working in a GMP facility
  • Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) for the Dietary Supplement industry; specifically, quality control.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, technical writing and interpersonal skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure to produce positive outcomes

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • Position will require some walking, standing and sitting
  • Some lifting of at least 50 pounds on occasion may be required
