Job description

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role establishes and maintains the policies, procedures, and governance necessary to support scalable manufacturing while clearly defining the responsibilities of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The Quality Assurance Manager leads initiatives such as CAPA implementation, document control, internal audits, management reviews, quality metrics, and preparation for ISO certification, ensuring quality systems evolve with the needs of the business.

On a day-to-day basis, the Quality Assurance Manager partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to drive preventive quality practices, resolve systemic issues, and improve business processes. This role manages the inspection function to support production demands, monitors key quality performance indicators, facilitates root cause investigations and corrective actions, and provides leadership through data-driven decision making, clear communication, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for Quality Assurance systems and personnel management

Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or significantly improving a Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, CAPA, internal audits, and management review processes

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and experience preparing an organization for certification or maintaining an ISO-certified quality system

Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, or similar tools

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive accountability, and build a culture of quality

Proficiency with quality metrics and data analysis, including developing KPIs, monitoring process performance, and presenting results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

3 years' experience working in a directly responsible quality role in a heavily regulated industry (aviation, transportation, medical, etc.)

Quality Assurance Management certification through ASQ or similar organization.
