Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland - Fort Meade Army Base
Type: Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $76,960 + $2,500 sign-on bonus

Tessera is seeking a outstanding and skilled Quality Assurance Inspector with a positive attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting tests and inspections of automotive services and repairs to evaluate quality of work meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Identify modifications to engines, fuel systems, emissions control equipment, or other vehicle systems to determine the impact of modifications on inspection procedures or conclusions.
  • Monitor or review output from systems, and conduct road tests, to validate road worthiness and operation of commercial motor vehicles follow-up inspection.
  • Perform inspections on completed work orders and documentation to ensure the final product meets quality standards.

  • Review DA5988 and DA 5990, and equipment records to detect any problems or to ensure compliance with AR 750-1.
  • Validate work order flow and review maintenance documents, historical files, and inspection records to note any trends or recurring discrepancies for initiating corrective action plans.
  • Inspect Shop Stock to ensure adequate service items are on hand prior to semiannual and annual service.
  • Act as a technical advisor to the Maintenance Supervisor and Shop Lead.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Shop Lead with work order tracking and status updates in GCSS-ARMY.
  • Monitor the Safety and well-being of employees.

Knowledge and understanding of Safety Data Sheet(s) (SDS).
Qualifications:
  • Eight (8) years minimum of military and civilian commercial vehicle maintenance experience is preferred.
  • ASE certification(s) or relevant experience is required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations and EPA guidelines is required.
  • Knowledge of GCSS-Army is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull 300+ pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A/B. For veterans, you must able to obtain a CDL A/B within 90 days of hire. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance company.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position
