Job description

Overview

To drive innovation and operational excellence through technology that enables teams to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Business Systems department delivers software to drive business process optimization through automation, intuitive workflows, and data governance. Our goal is to serve our internal customers (operators & support departments) with solutions that empower them to maximize their performance and enhance the customer journey.

Position Summary

The QA Lead is responsible for establishing and leading quality assurance practices across RPM Living's Data & Analytics platform, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data pipelines, reports, and analytics products delivered through Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. This role partners closely with Data Engineering, Product Management, and business stakeholders to build testing frameworks, validation standards, and quality gates that support confident, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain QA frameworks and test plans for data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and Power BI/Fabric reporting deliverables. Establish data validation, reconciliation, and regression testing standards across bronze, silver, and gold layers of the Fabric medallion architecture. Partner with Data Engineering to define acceptance criteria and quality gates prior to production release. Lead root-cause analysis on data quality incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions. Build and maintain automated testing scripts and monitoring/alerting for data quality anomalies. Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into testable data and reporting specifications. Own the QA intake and triage process for defects surfaced through ZenDesk or other support channels. Document QA processes, test cases, and standards; mentor analysts and engineers on quality best practices. Track and report quality metrics (defect rates, test coverage, resolution times) to Data & Analytics leadership. Support UAT cycles with business stakeholders during platform migrations and new integration rollouts. Leverage AI tools such as Claude and CodeRabbit to accelerate test case generation, code/data review, and defect identification across the QA lifecycle.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Experience may substitute for education. Five years of experience in data quality assurance, software QA, or data engineering testing roles. Hands-on experience testing modern data platforms; Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse/Data Factory, or similar preferred. Experience in multifamily property management, real estate, or a similarly complex data environment is a plus.

Knowledge of CI/CD practices as applied to data pipeline testing. Knowledge of SQL for data validation and reconciliation. Skilled in Analysis and problem-solving with meticulous attention to detail. Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent testing efforts in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Skilled in Power BI or comparable BI tools from a data-accuracy/testing perspective. Ability to collaborate and influence quality standards across engineering and product teams. Ability to design test strategies for complex, multi-source data integrations (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, UKG, Salesforce). Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
