Job description

The Apple Services Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV , Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services.
Thanks to Apple’s unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep commitment to strengthening Apple’s privacy policy , one of Apple’s core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple’s business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here.

Help us automate areas in the App Store for regression and new feature testing. You will be responsible for writing new automation tests for all Apple platforms: iOS, tvOS, macOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The Quality Automation Engineer is expected to possess the skills necessary for working closely with the engineering team during all aspects of the development process. This position requires a self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in XCTest with Swift and/or Python.
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and executing test plans for AI-powered features and applications.
Previous experience leveraging AI tools for automation and testing.
Track record of measurably increasing functional test coverage across complex software systems.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence QA practices across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in object-oriented programming with a strong command of at least one major OOP language, preferably Swift and/or Java.
Solid experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or shell scripting (Bash/Zsh).
Deep familiarity with software testing methodologies and quality engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems.
Proven ability to develop automation test strategies, author test plans, execute test suites, and communicate results clearly.
Hands-on experience testing SDKs, APIs, or developer-facing frameworks, including white-box and component-level test strategies.
Experience building and evolving test automation frameworks with a focus on scalability and reliability.
Strong ability to investigate, debug, and triage complex issues independently and drive them to resolution.
Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
