Job description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security is our highest priority. The AWS Security Assurance team is responsible for demonstrating the security controls of services offered by AWS. At AWS' scale, we must invent new ways to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers.


We are looking for a motivated assurance professional to join our team. As part of the team, you will support and execute compliance engagements across AWS's global audit portfolio, improve processes, and contribute to greater efficiencies across the security assurance organization. This role facilitates our ability to grow and scale our internal compliance processes to meet the compliance and regulatory expectations in markets and industries around the globe.

You should be an emerging professional who has the ability to understand IT and compliance processes, execute within defined workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
Leverage risk management domain expertise to support the design, documentation, and implementation of scalable processes and mechanisms for Security Assurance delivery
Identify patterns, gaps, and reuse opportunities across engagement workflows to inform process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to the development of frameworks, runbooks, and operating procedures that enable consistent execution by field assurance teams
Maintain active participation in a limited set of assurance engagements (certifications, customer assurance, regulatory exams) to sustain domain currency and generate field signal for prioritization
Translate observations from engagement participation into actionable inputs for mechanism design, adoption tracking, and quality improvement
Contribute to reporting, documentation, and knowledge management efforts that increase operational visibility and team effectiveness

This role operates at the intersection of field delivery and process design within Security Assurance. Daily activities include analyzing engagement artifacts to identify process gaps, collaborating with field assurance leads and product teams to develop scalable frameworks, and documenting standardized guidance for practitioner use.

The role solves for inconsistency in how assurance engagements are executed across products and regions by translating field observations into repeatable mechanisms. Internal stakeholders include engagement leads, product offering leads, and engineering teams. Limited engagement participation (third party audits, customer audits) maintains domain relevance and generates continuous improvement signal.
