About the Role
As a Product Quality Engineer (PQE), you will serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal engineering teams, ensuring product quality performance and customer satisfaction. You’ll lead quality investigations, drive root‑cause analysis, and champion continuous improvement across the entire product portfolio. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, reliability engineering, and customer support teams—owning product quality performance. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex technical problems, influencing cross‑functional teams, and elevating product quality through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead customer complaint investigations using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
•    Coordinate cross-functional teams (product engineering, reliability, manufacturing, test) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
•    Manage failure analysis requests and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
•    Support customer audits, quality reviews, and qualification activities.
•    Monitor field return trends, reliability indicators, and customer quality metrics Analyze test data, yield trends, and process indicators to proactively identify risks.
•    Prepare and deliver customer-facing quality reports and presentations.
•    Drive systemic improvements to reduce defects, improve robustness, and enhance customer satisfaction.
•    Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to strengthen process controls and test coverage.
•    Champion best practices in quality engineering and customer communication.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Materials Science
•    Minimum 12 years' experience in semiconductor quality, product engineering, reliability, or manufacturing.
•    Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, wafer fabrication, assembly/test processes, and reliability mechanisms.
•    Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP, Python, MATLAB, Excel) and statistical methods (SPC, DOE).
•    Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience supporting automotive, industrial, or high reliability customers (AEC Q100, ISO 26262).
•    Familiarity with FA techniques (SEM, FIB, OBIRCH, EMMI) and reliability testing.
•    Background in customer-facing roles or account support.

Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation.  The annual base pay range for this position is $133,472 to $200,456. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.
