Job description

IR Technologist – Interventional Radiology Tech

Schedule: 4x10 days (0700–1730) - Day shift

Requirements:

  • Required certifications/licenses:
    • ARRT (R)
    • BLS
    • Washington state license
  • Preferred: 1 year of IR experience

Core required procedures/competencies:

  • Y-90 chemo delivery (radioembolization)
  • GI bleed interventions
  • TPA administration
  • Vein sampling
  • Phase II recovery
  • Cryoablations

Clinical skills:

  • Interventional radiology procedures (embolization, stent placement, angiography)
  • Central venous access/PICC care, IVC filters, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, TIPS, nephrostomy, drain/chest tube management
  • Ability to scrub and circulate; maintain sterile field
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Medications system: Pyxis

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures including but not limited to embolization, stent placement, and angiography.
  • Assist with radioembolization and RFA cases as needed.
  • Ensure maintenance of sterile fields while scrubbing and circulating during procedures.
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide post-procedure care in Phase II recovery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to manage patient care effectively.

Compliance / Notes:

  • References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required prior to start.
  • Mandatory modules must be completed pre-start (average ~16 hours; more than 20 hours requires PM approval).
  • Additional compliance requirements include submitting references and completing necessary modules before start.
