Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CO or compact license and 2 years of ER experience, with Critical Access Hospital experience preferred.

Details
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Critical Access Hospital setting
  • Combined adult/pediatric general ED serving an average daily census of 17-18 patients
  • Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), rotating between 6:00-18:00 and 11:00-23:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • No floating required
  • Monthly on-call requirement of 2 shifts (days or nights), on-call window 0500-1900 for call-off coverage in ED or Acute Care
  • Must be within 1 hour distance from facility for call shifts
  • Uses Pyxis medication system
  • Uses T-System documentation system
  • Any scrub color accepted
Requirements
  • Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with charting systems required
  • Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and respiratory infections
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and spinal cord/neuro trauma
  • Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and behavioral health cases
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation as needed
  • Identify and report suspected neglect or abuse
  • Time off requests are subject to manager approval
