Key Responsibilities
  • Provide acute care nursing for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services, including post-cath lab and post-open heart surgery care
  • Administer IV cardiac medications and manage specialized equipment including Philips Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic Pacemakers, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, and Zoll R series devices
  • Manage complex patient needs including chronic vents, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, peritoneal dialysis, and transvenous pacing
  • Perform arterial and venous sheath pulling and care; monitor patients via invasive monitoring
  • Document patient care using Cerner EMR and administer medications via Pyxis dispensing system
  • Float to MS/Tele as required; float to ICU preferred, with competency in arterial lines and sheath pulls
Required Qualifications
  • Active and in good standing Arizona RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Proficiency in EKG interpretation and IV cardiac medication administration
  • Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with STEMI/NSTEMI patient populations, thoracotomies, BiPAP/CPAP initiation, and alcohol withdrawal management
  • Familiarity with ICU-level skills including arterial line management and sheath pulls
  • Experience with renal disease patients and peritoneal dialysis
