Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 trauma center, requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of critical care experience.

Details
  • Community hospital setting with 123 beds and Level 3 trauma designation
  • Respiratory Therapy department serving MS, critical care, and emergency patients
  • Primarily adult and geriatric population with occasional pediatric and infant cases
  • Patient ratios determined by census and acuity using a points-based acuity tool
  • 12-hour night shift schedule from 1800-0630
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floats to all departments within the facility based on assigned area, but does not float to other facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Utilizes Getinge Servo-u ventilators and Pyxis medication dispensing system
Requirements
  • Active RRT certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Critical care experience required
  • Experience with ventilators, BiPAPs, and HFNC required
  • Familiarity with respiratory equipment and accessories required
  • Nursery experience helpful but not required if NRP certified
Additional Information
  • Provide respiratory care support alongside RT manager and team lead
  • One day of hospital orientation followed by 2-3 precepted shifts, with additional time available based on comfort level
  • Holiday coverage expectations vary by unit
  • Time off requests require manager approval
  • Schedules released in 6-week cycles
  • Scrubs must be a solid, matching color for top and bottom
  • Free parking available in designated areas
  • First-time travelers considered if they have 2 years of experience and required skills
  • Facility values candidates who are engaged and eager to integrate with the team
  • One reference required for consideration, with a second reference from a supervisor or above required prior to start
