Job description

Role: Senior Data Engineer
Structure:
Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days remote) - Toronto
Duration:6-Month Contract
Pay Rate:up to $100 INC p/h--

We have a great new opportunity to support one of our Loyalty Sector clients in a contract capacity!

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and deploy scalable data engineering pipelines using Snowflake, AWS and Matillion
  • Develop high-quality, reusable and maintainable data solutions following engineering best practices
  • Build API-driven integrations between enterprise data platforms and Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP/Data 360) and Salesforce Loyalty Management
  • Develop automation solutions that reduce manual operational effort through CI/CD and GitHub workflows
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL and modern cloud technologies
  • Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions and other serverless components
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics teams, Product Owners and Business Analysts throughout design, development, testing and deployment
  • Participate in QA activities and ensure data quality across all pipelines
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support cloud-native, event-driven architectures where appropriate
Required Experience
  • 10+ years of experience across Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering or related disciplines
  • 5+ years working as a Senior Data Engineer or equivalent senior individual contributor
  • Expert SQL skills with extensive experience in Snowflake
  • Strong experience with Snowflake Notebooks
  • Advanced Python programming skills
  • Strong AWS experience including:
    • Lambda
    • S3
    • IAM
    • Cloud-native services
  • Experience building enterprise-scale Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
  • Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience integrating enterprise data into Salesforce platforms or similar SaaS applications
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub
  • Experience with software engineering best practices, version control and deployment automation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with business stakeholders
