Embedded Capabilities Developer 2 - (C/C++, Python, Network Programming)
Clearance: TS/SCI - Polygraph required
Position ID: 20-17-001-AD2
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland
Description:
You will act as a general-purpose CNO software engineer embedded in operations for up-and-coming projects. You will be responsible for the full product lifecycle including: design, prototype, development, release, deployment, and maintenance of all tools developed by the team. In addition to the above you will also be responsible modifying other teams tools and integrating products developed by other teams into our toolkit for mission-centric results. You will work closely with analysts, operators, and other software engineers to define new requirements and provide tactical support to operations. This includes quick reaction operational support and the support in addition to the longer development lifecycle of more feature rich capabilities.
  • Augment existing tools.
  • Derive, document, and analyze requirements.
  • Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of mission requirements.
  • Produce end-to-end toolsets that can operate within mission constraints.
  • Provide technical consulting support across various software products and technologies, advising customers on operational direction.
  • Take part in peer code reviews.

Position Required Skills:
  • Produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python, with explicit experience in network programming.
  • Provide support for fielded software systems.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with users of differing technical knowledge including operators, analysts, and other developers to deliver finished products to the customer.
  • Reverse engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion.
  • Atlassian Tools (Confluence/Jira/Bamboo).

Nice to Haves
  • Experience with any of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Bash, Powershell, Perl, C#, Rust.
  • Experience developing CNO specific software in Linux/Window/Embedded environments.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Research and Exploit Development.
  • Experience with Malware RE.
  • Solid understanding of cryptography.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.

AD2 Qualifications:
YOE Requirement: 6 yrs., B.S. in a technical discipline or 4 additional yrs. in place of B.S. or 4 yrs. and an M.S.
Salary Range: $206k-$251k (Annually)
The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
