Python Java information

What is a Python Java developer?

Python Java developers are software engineers who have expertise in both the Python and Java programming languages. They are skilled in building, maintaining, and optimizing applications that may use either or both languages, depending on project requirements. These developers can work on web development, data analysis, backend systems, and more, leveraging the strengths of both languages. Their versatility makes them valuable for teams that need solutions spanning multiple technologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Java developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python/Java Developer, you need strong programming skills in both Python and Java, along with a solid understanding of software development principles and a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with integrated development environments (IDEs) like PyCharm or Eclipse, version control systems such as Git, and frameworks like Spring or Django is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for this role. These skills and qualifications enable developers to build robust, efficient applications and work effectively within development teams to deliver quality software solutions.

How do Python and Java developers typically collaborate within a software development team?

Python and Java developers often work together on projects that require leveraging the strengths of both languages, such as integrating backend services (Java) with data processing or scripting (Python). Collaboration usually involves regular code reviews, shared documentation, and using APIs or microservices for communication between components. Developers may use tools like Git, Jira, or Slack to coordinate tasks and ensure seamless integration. Working closely with other team members such as front-end developers, QA analysts, and project managers is also common to deliver well-rounded solutions.

What is the difference between Python Java vs Software Developer?

AspectPython Java
Primary LanguagePython and Java
Common CertificationsOracle Certified Java Programmer, Python Institute Certifications
Work EnvironmentSoftware development, web applications, data analysis
Industry UsageTech companies, finance, healthcare, startups

Python Java developers typically possess certifications in Java and Python, work in similar environments, and are employed across various industries. Both roles focus on software development, but Python Java developers often specialize in projects requiring both languages, such as web applications, data analysis, or backend systems. Understanding the differences helps employers and candidates align skills with job requirements effectively.

Is Python and Java enough to get a job?

Python and Java are popular programming languages for many software development roles, and proficiency in both can improve job prospects. However, employers often look for additional skills such as problem-solving, understanding of algorithms, frameworks, and experience with tools like version control. Certifications and practical experience can also enhance employability in programming jobs.

Job description

As a Full Stack Engineer Senior Consultant in Deloitte Cyber's Digital Trust & Privacy practice, you will operate at the intersection of client-facing advisory, product engineering, and hands-on technical delivery. You will help clients address complex challenges across digital trust, online protection, privacy, artificial intelligence governance, and data protection by translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable, production-grade technology solutions.

Full Stack Engineers work directly in client environments to architect, build, integrate, deploy, and improve solutions. Depending on the engagement, you may develop trust and safety capabilities, implement product compliance controls, operationalize privacy-by-design practices, build governance for generative or agentic AI, or deploy data protection and cryptographic solutions. These capabilities support Deloitte's broader Digital Trust & Privacy mission: helping organizations build confidence in their digital products, platforms, services, data practices, and customer interactions.

This role is designed for a technically strong consultant who can move from ambiguity to implementation, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and communicate effectively with business, security, privacy, legal, and compliance stakeholders.

Recruiting for this role ends on 12/31/2026.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Strategy, Growth and Transformation on the Digital Trust & Privacy team, you will be responsible for:

  • Translating client business objectives, risk requirements, and policy expectations into technical architectures, product requirements, engineering backlogs, and implementation plans
  • Designing, developing, integrating, deploying, testing, and troubleshooting production-grade solutions in client environments, including artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI)-enabled capabilities where applicable
  • Building application programming interfaces (APIs), automations, workflows, integrations, dashboards, and other technical components that enable scalable digital trust, privacy, and data protection capabilities
  • Embedding governance into software development and deployment workflows through automated checkpoints, controls-as-code, policy enforcement, and continuous monitoring
  • Collaborating with clients and cross-functional stakeholders to prototype solutions, resolve technical issues, and deliver solutions that meet regulatory and program objectives

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide clear guidance to others

  • 6 months+ of experience designing or deploying generative artificial intelligence (AI) or large language model (LLM) solutions in a client or production environment
  • Experience in one or more of the following: digital trust and online protection, trust and safety, security, product compliance, privacy, AI governance, data protection, or cryptography
  • Ability to travel 25-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,400 to $207,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
