Join Aon's Strategy and Technology Group (STG) and help build innovative technology solutions that empower better decisions for our clients. As part of a collaborative, high-performing team, you will develop advanced actuarial and financial software solutions, automation tools, and AI-driven capabilities that support Aon's global business.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

The salary range for this position is CAD $96,425- 125,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

What the day will look like

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python tools, libraries, and frameworks that support PathWise actuarial and financial modelling, including standard templates and reusable components.
  • Build and enhance automation solutions for model implementation and DevOps processes, simplifying workflows for modelling actuaries and other nondeveloper users.
  • Contribute to the development of the PathWise Python modelling layer, including standard classes and templates used to orchestrate models, control data flows, and perform ETLstyle processing.
  • Develop and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines, utilities, and engineering tools that improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of PathWiserelated solutions.
  • Apply and promote software quality practices, including maintainable design, unit testing, code reviews, and use of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with actuarial, technology, and business teams to understand requirements, solve complex challenges, and deliver practical, wellengineered solutions.
  • Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience developing software products, tools, or applications using Python.
  • Experience building maintainable, tested, productionquality Python applications or libraries.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy is an asset.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality practices.
  • Handson experience working within DevOps processes, including implementing or managing automated build, test, and deployment workflows (e.g., in Azure DevOps).
  • Experience working in Agile environments and across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Handson experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and Git.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across actuarial, technology, and business teams.
  • Experience in actuarial, financial services, insurance, or quantitative modelling environments is an asset.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, HighPerformance Computing (HPC), automation tools, or AI/ML is beneficial but not required.
